This year Fairtrade Fortnight 2023 is taking place 27 February – 12 March 2023. During this Fairtrade Fortnight, join us in spreading a simple message: making the small switch to Fairtrade supports producers in protecting the future of some of our most-loved food and the planet. Climate change is making crops like these harder and harder to grow. Combined with deeply unfair trade, communities growing these crops are being pushed to the brink. But here’s the good news. More people choosing Fairtrade means extra income, power and support for those communities. By making the small switch to Fairtrade, we can all support producers in protecting the future of some of our most-loved food and the planet.

Watch this month’s Fairtrade Community Resilience Forum, where we had a small presentation about Fairtrade during the Community Resilience Forum that included ideas on how to take part in Fairtrade Fortnight, from organising an event in your local library or hosting a lunch. Everyone also was updated about the Wellingborough Walks trees and had the opportunity to network with each other and share their events and activities. Do join us next time on the last Friday of the month at 2pm!

It’s Time to Talk Day on the 2nd February, and as it’s the nation’s biggest mental health conversation that was the theme for this month’s forum. Happening every year, it’s a day for friends, families, communities, and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives. Run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, in partnership with the Co-op and with support from Time To Change Wales, See Me and Change Your Mind / Inspire, we will look at how to make space in your day for a conversation about mental health this Time to Talk Day.

We had a small presentation during the Community Resilience Forum about ideas on how to take part in Time to Talk Day, from organising an event in your local library or hosting a lunch and learn session to simply sharing information on social media or texting a friend. Hopefully the presentation might inspire you?

Warm and Well Community Resilience Forum

We hope that you enjoy this recording of the Warm and Well Community Resilience Forum on Zoom, that discusses how to help people keep warm and wellbeing in the town during the cost-of-living crisis.

Why Warm and Well?

Well, this winter is going to be the most challenging in living memory for all of us. The wellbeing of many local people will be greatly affected by the cost-of-living crisis, with some having to choose between heating and eating.

We can all of course help, but how? With new ‘Warm Rooms’ being set up by some community centres and other warm and well initiatives being offered locally; the need to work collaboratively to make what we offer makes sure that we help the most people.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on the Warm and Well Community Resilience Forum

Before we started recording at the start of the forum, everyone was given the chance to introduce themselves and, if applicable, the organisation they represent.
